ALEXANDER SHOROKHOFF Byzantium
Sometime around the year 660 BC, Doric Greeks founded a colony called Byzantium on the European shore of the Bosporus. From here the history of this fascinating capital began, which today is the only metropolis in the world that unites the European and Asian continents.
Today it is known as Istanbul and combines the Greek and Roman heritage, the display of Ottoman splendor, in which much valuable jewellery made in Arabic tradition, is preserved. The model „Byzantium“ is a magnificent watch in honor of the eventful and fascinating history of the city of Istanbul and picks up on this great diversity.
The ornaments gathered from Arab calligraphy present themselves in a new interpretation. The dial is divided into four sectors, surrounded by a meander – a motif from the art of Greek antiquity. In the middle is a cross, which reminds of the earlier Christian history of this modern metropolis. The hands are blue or gold-plated, and the hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 are decorated with high-quality diamonds.

About Alexander Shorokhoff
Alexander Shorokhoff was founded in 2003 in Alzenau, Germany by Alexander Shorokhov. The brand was borne out of Shorokhov’s desire to create watches with high standards of workmanship, quality and design.
Shorokhov’s designs are drawn from his Russian roots and the many countries and cultures he visits. Engravings and decorations painstakingly done by hand are signature traits of Alexander Shorokhoff, with a single master watchmaker being responsible for one watch from start to finish.
Truly, a piece of Art on the Wrist.
