Wear a Piece of History on Your Wrist

On 12 April 1961, a Sturmanskie watch accompanied Yuri Gagarin on the first manned flight into space. To commemorate that momentous event, we now present the limited edition Gagarin Heritage collection – a range of watches worthy of the great hero. A masculine, minimalist and stylish watch. The black leather strap and the watch face of the same colour go perfectly with the red stitching and the shiny steel case. The model’s special feature is an engraved image of Yuri Gagarin under a transparent cover on the back of the case. The dial is simple but informative. Thanks to the luminous hands and numbers, the watch can be used even in the dark. The mechanical calibre Poljot 2609 operates for up to 38 hours when fully wound. It is shockproof, reliable, and highly accurate. The dial is protected by a hard, scratch-resistant convex mineral crystal.

About Sturmanskie

The Russians were the first to explore space on 12 April 1961 when cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, orbited the Earth in his Vostok-1 for one hour and forty-eight minutes. On his wrist, he wore a Sturmanskie watch, the first special timepiece in the world designed and manufactured to go in to space.

Withstanding the severe conditions of zero gravity, strong accelerations, unpredictable vibrations, and varying temperatures, Sturmanskie was the first brand to make astronomical feats in the watch world.

Its innovation was owed to the nautical and aviation chronometers originally developed for the Military Air Forces and Navy by the First Moscow Watch Factory.

The brand Sturmanskie was first launched in 1949. Back then, it was exclusively available for the Armed Forces and Navy of the USSR. It was only in 1983 that Sturmanskie watches were made available to the general public.

Sturmanskie designs continue to be inspired by and pay homage to new frontiers, adventure and exploration.
