A rare vintage rarity from the 1960s.

The "Samara" model is a beautiful vintage watch that is now being re-produced. The design dates back to the 1960s and has been revised somewhat. The hour markers get a thinner and more elegant shape and optically adapt perfectly to the narrow shape of the hands. Numbers were chosen to represent the minute scale. These were placed on the outer edge of the dial. The curvature of the dial on the outer edge remains as with the original models from the 60s and continues this tradition. The color of the dial has also been updated to match the 1960s. A blue hue plays the leading role, which was very popular at the time. The simple pointers are designed in white. These contrasts support the easy legibility of the time.
The heart of the watch is the rare hand-wound caliber 2609.Poljot, which also dates from this period and gives the watch a real vintage character. The glass back of the watch is also an update compared to traditional vintage models. This makes the Poljot movement easy to see. The 38.5 mm case is made of brushed stainless steel, the bezel and the back are highly polished. These finishes create contrasts to make the already flat watch look even flatter. The straps are made of high-quality, soft calfskin without continuous seams. The side rough seam stitches get the traditional look of the 60s.

ABOUT POLJOT INTERNATIONAL

The roots of the watch brand “Poljot-International” date back to the 1930s, when the “First State Watch Factory” was founded in Moscow. In 1961, after the flight of the first citizen of the earth, Yuri Gagarin, into space, the watches produced by the factory were given the designation “Poljot” (the flight).

All watches of the brand “Poljot-International” are manufactured in Germany today. Nevertheless, the charm and delicacy in the design, the skilful hands of the master watchmakers, the warmth of the Russian soul and, of course, the love for Russia can be seen and felt.
