Where human courage, natural history, and modern horology converge
Time is never only seconds — just as a summit is never only height.
With the Everest Summit Central Tourbillon, CIGA Design transforms humanity’s greatest ascent into a contemporary horological statement — one shaped by courage, perseverance, and unity. The timepiece draws its inspiration from Mount Everest, a symbol that has long represented the outer limits of human endurance and inner resolve.

In 1953, Everest stood as the last unconquered peak. After decades of failed attempts, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit on 29 May — not as conquerors of nature, but as partners in determination. Their ascent was defined not by domination, but by resilience and shared purpose. That spirit lies at the heart of this watch.
A Tourbillon That Mirrors the Climb
At its core is CIGA Design’s self-developed Caliber CD-05, a rare central tourbillon perfected over more than 120 days. Driven by four mainsprings, the movement delivers a 120-hour power reserve, its continuous rotation echoing the steady rhythm of climbers ascending step by step.
The central tourbillon is more than a mechanical spectacle — it becomes a metaphor. Precise, deliberate, and enduring, it reflects the discipline required to move forward when conditions are unforgiving.

A Dial Shaped by the Mountain Itself
Each dial is crafted from Everest bedrock fragments, collected at the mountain’s foothills and refined through weeks of cutting, CNC engraving, and laser shaping. The result preserves the stone’s raw texture while revealing remarkable depth and contrast.
A sculpted Everest relief, coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® C1, glows softly in low light — recalling the summit illuminated at dawn. It is not a representation of the mountain, but a material connection to it.

Tools of Survival, Reimagined
The skeletonised hands take their form from an ice axe, inspired by Hillary’s preserved tool. Finished with Super-LumiNova®, they ensure clarity at night while reinforcing the narrative of survival, precision, and resolve.
Encased in Grade 5 titanium, the watch balances strength with lightness — a functional reflection of the equipment climbers depend upon in extreme conditions.

Where Time Reaches Its Peak
The CIGA Design Everest Summit Central Tourbillon stands as both tribute and testament. It captures not only the physical mountain, but the human spirit behind it — reminding us that the greatest ascents are as much internal as they are external.
In this timepiece, time itself ascends.
not as something static, but as something alive and evolving.
