The Warmer Side of Fangyu

The Shanghai Watch Originate · Fangyu Burgundy brings a richer character to the collection's architecture-led design.

Like the other Fangyu models, its shape is inspired by Shanghai’s historic Bund City Hall Plaza. The geometry of the building’s enclosed courtyard informs the distinctive 38mm square case, where strong lines are softened by subtly curved corners.

Here, however, the character changes completely.

A warm rose-gold-tone case surrounds a deep burgundy dial, creating a stronger contrast than the stainless-steel models. Fine dial texturing adds depth, complemented by slender hour markers, sword-shaped hands and the collection’s characteristic lollipop seconds hand. A date window sits neatly at 3 o’clock.

Behind the design is Shanghai Watch’s ST2130 automatic movement, offering approximately 42 hours of power reserve. The mechanical movement can be viewed through the transparent caseback, providing a more traditional counterpoint to the contemporary case architecture.

Finished on a black Alcantara® strap, Fangyu Burgundy is the most expressive of the four — retaining the collection’s compact proportions while giving its geometric design a distinctly warmer presence.
