On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Alzenau’s affiliation to Bavaria, the home town of the manufactory, Alexander Shorokhoff developed a limited watch series that was intended to underline this proud history and to connect all Alzenau residents with it.
This special “Alzenau” watch is available in two different versions. Both versions are very strictly limited to 100 pieces, each with a champagne or silver dial in a stainless steel case. The dials are provided with a high-quality guilloché finish. For better readability, large black Arabic numerals and a minute graduation on the outer scale in black have been chosen. The coat of arms of the city is produced in a complex process as a separate element in colour. The inscription under the logo is also unmistakable: Made in Alzenau, Germany. This once again emphasizes the fact that the manufactory belongs to the Alzenau region.
The automatic watch has a movement from a renowned Swiss movement manufacturer ETA (2824). The rotor of this movement is disassembled, hand-engraved, refined and reassembled in the manufactory. Finally, the full beauty of the movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal back. On the extra darkened glass you can see the colored Alzenau coat of arms and the inscription “200 years in Bavaria”. These two symbols were applied from the inside so that it remains visible even after a long time.
The high-quality mechanical chronograph with a diameter of 43.5 mm looks sporty, but its design also conveys a festive look. A high-quality mechanical automatic chronograph movement from a renowned Swiss watchmaker Dubois-Depraz (2030) is also used for this watch. It has a stopwatch function in addition to the hour, minute and decentralized seconds display. The circles of the second and minute counters at 3 and 9 o’clock are guilloched with a check pattern.
The hands of both models are made of blued steel. The leather straps in brown for the champagne-coloured dial and in black for the silver one have been carefully selected; they fit perfectly and give the watch something harmonious and balanced.
Alexander Shorokhoff was founded in 2003 in Alzenau, Germany by Alexander Shorokhov. The brand was borne out of Shorokhov’s desire to create watches with high standards of workmanship, quality and design.
Shorokhov’s designs are drawn from his Russian roots and the many countries and cultures he visits. Engravings and decorations painstakingly done by hand are signature traits of Alexander Shorokhoff, with a single master watchmaker being responsible for one watch from start to finish.
Truly, a piece of Art on the Wrist.
