MODEL GORBATCHOV – IN MEMORY OF MIKHAIL GORBACHEV
A legend of international stature.

In the 1990s, this man’s face was recognized all over the world. His fame surpassed that of any idol. Mikhail Gorbatchov was the one who broke through the "Iron Curtain" between East and West. People began to meet each other with mutual
understanding and respect. Mikhail Gorbatchov was a legend of international stature. He left his mark on the world and did his best to promote peace. On August 30, 2022, Gorbatchov passed away in Moscow at the age of 91. He will always be remembered as a warm-hearted, kind, and peaceful man. In many ways, he also shaped the life of Alexander Shorokhov. Following an agreement between Gorbatchov and Helmut Kohl, Shorokhov was selected as one of the progressive Russian managers sent to Germany to study the free market economy. This later became the foundation of the Poljot-International brand. For Gorbatchov’s 70th birthday, Alexander Shorokhov collaborated with him to produce the first Gorbatchov watch series, which generated great enthusiasm and quickly sold out.

In 2017, another limited edition of the same name was launched. Poljot-International dedicated a second anniversary model to Mikhail Gorbatchov in recognition of
his great achievements. The watch is adorned with the famous words "Perestroika" (Reconstruction) and "Glasnost" (Openness)—the key principles under which
Gorbatchov drove the reformation process of the Soviet Union. Instead of numbers, the dial features rose gold indices. Two flags symbolize the transition from the USSR
to the Russian Federation. The model is available in three colors: black, beige, and silver. Each version is limited to 250 pieces. The watch is powered by the automatic caliber
2427 from Slava, featuring a date and day display, a double barrel, 21 jewels, shock protection, and a 42-hour power reserve.

In 2025, Poljot-International will honor Mikhail Gorbatchov for the third time with another continuation of the carefully designed "Gorbi Watch". The difference from the previous models lies in the newly developed case, which now has a diameter of 42 mm and a height of 12.77 mm. The curved edge of the dial visually enhances the slimness of the case.
Additionally, the new models shine in two stunning colors: green and blue. Green symbolically represents hope, while blue has a calming and clear effect. Both are colors that Mikhail Gorbatchov would have surely appreciated, giving this watch a special significance. The heart of the watch has also been upgraded. Inside the new models beats the automatic NH36 movement from Seiko, featuring 24 jewels, a date and day display at the 3 o’clock position, and a 41- hour power reserve.
With a strict limitation of only 100 pieces per model, this timepiece is not only a highly sought-after collector’s item but also a tribute to a historic figure and a piece of world history.
