SHANGHAI WATCH THE BUND TIME TRACE WHITE
SHANGHAI WATCH THE BUND TIME TRACE 41.5MM
Time in Motion
Inspired by the visual rhythm of a gramophone, the Shanghai Watch THE BUND Time Trace transforms the passage of time into something you can actually see.
At the centre of its design is an unusual white three-dimensional spiral dial. Rather than remaining static, the dial incorporates a traditional carrousel mechanism that completes one rotation every hour. The effect recalls a record slowly turning on a gramophone, creating a constantly changing sense of depth and movement across the watch face.
The off-centre display adds another architectural layer to the design, while the hour and minute hands are treated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
The 41.5mm case is crafted from 316L stainless steel and measures 13mm thick. Sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback reveals the mechanical architecture within.
Powering the Time Trace is Shanghai Watch's K01 hand-wound mechanical movement. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), the 21-jewel calibre delivers a power reserve of up to 62 hours.
A black leather strap with a quick-release system completes the watch, keeping attention firmly on its unconventional mechanical display.
Part mechanical watch and part kinetic sculpture, the Time Trace captures the character of Shanghai Watch's contemporary watchmaking — using traditional mechanics to create a distinctly modern expression of time.
