The Shanghai Watch Sky Dome Automatic draws its inspiration from one of architecture’s most enduring forms — the dome.

Its symmetrical structure is reinterpreted through the watch’s most distinctive feature: an exposed balance mechanism positioned prominently at the centre of the dial. The open construction brings the mechanical heartbeat of the watch into full view, transforming a functional component into the visual centrepiece of the design.

The white dial features finely executed radiating patterns that extend outwards from the central mechanism, creating a sense of depth and architectural symmetry. An off-centre hours and minutes display sits at 12 o’clock, accented by vivid blue Arabic numerals and matching blue hands, while a small seconds display at 6 o’clock completes the vertically balanced layout.

The 40mm case gives the intricate dial architecture presence without feeling oversized, while its polished stainless-steel construction provides a clean frame for the contrasting white, blue and gold-toned details.

Inside is Shanghai Watch’s automatic mechanical movement, with the exposed balance assembly allowing its rhythmic motion to become part of the experience of reading the watch.

A black leather strap completes the design, keeping the overall presentation classic while allowing the unusual mechanical architecture to remain the focus.
