A simple thing becomes extraordinary in the hands of a genius. After Yuri Gagarin’s legendary flight, his simple Sturmanskie watch became the dream of millions. Today we bring it to life with the Gagarin Classic Automatic collection. A watch with a classic design that suits absolutely everyone and remains up-to-date for decades. The oblong silver indices and thin hands look elegant on the white dial. The watch displays the current date. The black strap looks striking due to the imitation reptile skin. The timepiece’s reliability and accuracy is beyond doubt: the steel case conceals the Japanese premium Miyota 9015 movement with automatic winding and a power reserve to last 42 hours.

ABOUT STURMANSKIE

The Russians were the first to explore space on 12 April 1961 when cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, orbited the Earth in his Vostok-1 for one hour and forty-eight minutes. On his wrist, he wore a Sturmanskie watch, the first special timepiece in the world designed and manufactured to go in to space.
Withstanding the severe conditions of zero gravity, strong accelerations, unpredictable vibrations, and varying temperatures, Sturmanskie was the first brand to make astronomical feats in the watch world.
Its innovation was owed to the nautical and aviation chronometers originally developed for the Military Air Forces and Navy by the First Moscow Watch Factory.
The brand Sturmanskie was first launched in 1949. Back then, it was exclusively available for the Armed Forces and Navy of the USSR. It was only in 1983 that Sturmanskie watches were made available to the general public.
Sturmanskie designs continue to be inspired by and pay homage to new frontiers, adventure and exploration.
