Sturmanskie watch rightfully bears the title of space, because exactly that watch accompanied Yuri Gagarin on his first flight into Earth orbit. The Gagarin Heritage Automatic 40 collection carefully transfers the classic design of the legend to our days. This model has a simple but incredibly attractive male design. The round stainless steel case perfectly matches the color with a iconic brown leather strap and a standard buckle. Large indexes of the 12-hour scale are printed on the beige dial in retro font. The glass on the dial is convex, with two radii. As a mechanism for this model, the national Polyot 2416 with automatic winding, which is visible through a transparent cover, is used.

ABOUT STURMANSKIE

The Russians were the first to explore space on 12 April 1961 when cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, orbited the Earth in his Vostok-1 for one hour and forty-eight minutes. On his wrist, he wore a Sturmanskie watch, the first special timepiece in the world designed and manufactured to go in to space.
Withstanding the severe conditions of zero gravity, strong accelerations, unpredictable vibrations, and varying temperatures, Sturmanskie was the first brand to make astronomical feats in the watch world.
Its innovation was owed to the nautical and aviation chronometers originally developed for the Military Air Forces and Navy by the First Moscow Watch Factory.
The brand Sturmanskie was first launched in 1949. Back then, it was exclusively available for the Armed Forces and Navy of the USSR. It was only in 1983 that Sturmanskie watches were made available to the general public.
Sturmanskie designs continue to be inspired by and pay homage to new frontiers, adventure and exploration.
